SECCHI & LASCO Movie Tool

Explore the SECCHI & LASCO Observations via the Quicklook Image Archive

Brief Description

The page is an interface for explore the SECCHI and LASCO observations by creating on-demand movies using the quicklook image archive. The 'quicklook' term refers to images processed to remove an empirical background or otherwise enhanced to bring out the coronal structures but they are not photometrically correct. They are meant for display and data exploration only; not for quantitative analysis.

Images are available for all telescopes in various sizes and types: direct, running differences (r_dif or s_rem), EUVI wavelet-enhanced (wavelet) and background-removed HI-1 and -2 (stars).

The images are created as part of the SECCHI and LASCO pipelines and are not checked for missing frames or other artifacts. The SECCHI images are usually a few days behind. The LASCO images are updated monthly.
